ServantxService

Finally finished Servant Service.

You know that Crunchyroll series that you've kept on your queue because you started it forever ago and you haven't had time to finish it cause you're just THAT lazy? Yeah, that's what this series was for me.

It definitely wasn't one of those series with a binge-able feel to it and yet I can't say that I didn't enjoy it. Sure the opening and the ending wasn't to my taste like some other series. But the show was definitely relatable on so many levels.

As a young working adult, I can feel for the characters that have to deal with the shenanigans of  work life. Office romance, dealing with the customers and the quirkiness of your coworkers, the random chance encounters of seeing them outside of work. Its basically real life, but...not. It was a nice way for me to reflect after work and think, "HEY, something like that happened to me. That's funny."

The animation is clean including the opening and the ending. Especially when you're watching it on Crunchyroll's 1080p. But its just, the music. Its the music that really makes a show for me. Something that will make me spend the extra couple of minutes to watch the opening all the way through and to give me the drive to find a copy for my phone on those long drives.

And I think that, with the almost too real story line really made me not want to finish it. But don't let that discourage you, see for yourself how this show is. The series is currently being streaming on Crunchyroll. Link below.

Update Blog for 03/08/16

Hi all,

I don't know who actually reads this blog, but I think for the sake of tracking my progress, I wanted to make known what's actually going on with this site. For awhile the site was left inactive. I was focusing more on the club that my friend and I had formed here in San Diego, the San Diego Gunpla group. If you haven't checked it out please do! If you're a native of San Diego or currently reside in San Diego please come and say hello!

As a result, I spent a lot more of my time interacting with the real world, and less with the world on the net. It has its perks but it also has its definite drawbacks. For anyone in the anime community, you know that a good portion of your interactions are online. When you take the online aspect away, then you kind lose a little bit of that sense of community.

After being away from the scene for so long, this year I decided to get back into the world of the internet. First, I wanted to see if I could make something that I had thought of come true - I wanted to create a comprehensive database of the Gundam Products that had come out with reliable reviews (or at least what I had considered as reliable) for people to reference.

I had a lot of trouble finding a way to create the information tree. By the time I knew it, I was able to create the Iron Blooded Orphans line of products, but it had taken so much time and effort that I felt too burnt out to continue the project.

So what kind of content will be replacing it then? I'm not even quite sure of that myself. At the moment I've been trying to see if I can get back into studying. As I've been growing older, I've noticed that I have been getting lazier and lazier. I just don't have the same kind of zeal that I had as a kid trying to be the best.

And so, if I wanted to get that back, I figured that the first step is to start studying. Since I couldn't think of a single topic to study, I decided to do a list of them. So here's the list.

  1. History
  2. Math
  3. Science
  4. Art
  5. Music
  6. Theology
  7. English
  8. PE
  9. Language
  10. Careers

Don't be alarmed by PE (physical education) on the list. This blog isn't going to turn out into one of those fitness blogs, And I will definitely try to talk about some of the other new and exciting things coming out for 2017. Ah man, there's so much to dive into. Iron Blooded Orphans is finally wrapping up. Too bad that the show is starting to pick up right when things are starting to end. Yu-Gi-Oh! Just released their new Link Summoning mechanic. And you can't forget about all that Dragon Ball Super news! I've been watching the new episodes with the gf and they've been great!

Personally, I'm excited to start posting more content. I'm starting to see the appeal of using a blog. Its a good way to talk about your hobbies and form your thoughts into something tangible that people can understand. Not to mention that its a good way to express all your excitement for new products and toys without freaking out your coworkers... XD.

Until next time.

Transforming Model Kit Studies

As big of a Gundam nut as I am, I sometimes like to research certain types of kits. One year, I decided that I wanted to see what the best High Grade GM grunt was in terms of bang for your buck. Another year I decided to do the same for High Grade Zakus.

This time around I looking at my HG High Mobility Zaku [Gaia/Mash] that I got for Christmas and I realized that I really wanted to have something to play with while I watch shows on my computer. Actually, "wanted" to isn't strong enough as a word.

NEED. I think that's a better word to describe what I'm feeling.

A good friend of mine once told me that I littered his desk with toys so that he could fiddle with something in his hand while he did homework, thought about problems, or watched shows (Eyyy, see how it connects?)

So here is my new research project. Finding the best transformable and playable Gundam model kit for your money.
