Price Point: 1700 yen
This kit was purchased through GG Infinite

(All review pictures are taken without any seals, panel, Gundam Markers and paint.)

Summary:
The kit offers a simple build with outstanding proportions, joint stability, and posability. Other than the small complaints about the V-fin's wrong coloring and the expected weight issue, this kit definitely captures the power of the DX in the anime, especially when it’s posing with Twin Satellite Cannon. The HGAW DX is a small simple package for any beginner modeler who is looking for a mobile suit with an extravagant looking capacity for fire power and posability. Advance modelers may find this kit fairly unchallenging but it is a great addition to those who already possess the HGAW X Gundam and/or HGAW X Gundam Divider.

Pros:
1. Good Proportion
2. Good Posability (Satellite Cannon Pose)
3. Good Joint Stability
4. Simple Build

Cons:
1. V-fin jewel needs to be painted
2. Back heavy (as expected)
3. Limited shoulder articulation (suit design)

Articulation:
The DX has a wide range of articulation in the elbow, hip, knee, and ankles/feet. However, it suffers from lack of shoulder and wrist movements. This is mostly due to the mobile suit design rather than the model kit design and so it can't be a complete knock against the kit. The shoulder movement is hindered by the backpack and the arm cover reduces the wrist rotation range.

Neck, and waist have similar range compared to the rest of the new HG kits that have come out this year. With the double jointed neck, and the ball jointed polycap for the waist.

The Twin Satellite Cannons contain a wide range of articulation due to the ball joints on the backpack with little problem. The lunar cells on the back only have two degrees of freedom while the other lunar cells only have one degree of freedom.

It seems like all of the great plastics are made softer than other color plastics but they are still harder than the PC parts. After construction, all of the joint movements feel very smooth.

Accessories:
The most extravagant accessories of the DX is the Twin Satellite Cannon with 14 lunar satellite cells attached to its body (6 mounted on the backpack and 4 per leg). Compared to the Twin Satellite Cannon and the satellite lunar cells, other accessories seems almost extra and unnecessary.

Twin Satellite Cannons and Satellite System
There is nothing fancy about the construction of this combination; it is no more than 40 pieces of plastic. While most of the parts here only requires a little touchup from paint or stickers, the lunar cells on the backpack only come in plain white color, meaning stickers or paint must be applied.

Hyper Beam Sabers, Buster Rifle, and Defense Plate
Very standard for a Gundam type model kit and are often taken for granted, especially with Twin Satellite Cannons on this monster. Out of the 3, the most impressive has to be the beam sabers. Unlike the typical pink beams that you get from more UC kits, these contain amazing detail around the hilt and are colored anime-accurate green.

 ----------------------------------------------
Posability:
DX might not have all of the articulation when compared to the HG Wing Gundam or HG Astray Red Frame with Flight Pack, it is still able to do many dynamic poses.

Ground poses
Although not its original intention, the DX does look great in its ground poses. Some adjusting of the legs are required in order to counter balance the weight on the back though.

Aerial poses
DX is designed to do aerial poses, mainly due to its weight issue in the back.

(The backpack was flipped for this creative pose!)

There are some definitely some complaints while posing for the ground but there are also a lot of compliment for the aerial poses. Disregard any negative and positive comments from before…This is THE REASON why we bought this kit!!! (Image of Twin Satellite Cannon deployment)

If you are buying this kit, you are buying for this pose. There is nothing more signature than a DX deploying its Twin Satellite Cannon in space.
